One fair, many languages
In partnership with the key education institutions of the DC region, the fair features 150+ exhibitors covering 18+ languages so families, young professionals, and educators can explore linguistic and cultural resources side by side.
Among the exhibitors you will find resources for young professionals, families, and educators, including language classes, apps, books, tutors, travel programs, and more. Attendees can also learn about careers where languages are crucial.
Note for Spanish-speaking visitors: information in Spanish is provided at the end of this page.
Registration for the Multilingual Education Fair opens the door to a single, welcoming gathering for the Washington, DC region, where families, students, educators, and professionals share an interest in languages and cultural fluency. The fair is built around exploration rather than instruction: visitors browse exhibitor tables, sample materials, and discover programs that use language as a lens for learning. Attendees arrive curious and leave with a broader sense of the community that supports multilingual learners across the capital and its surrounding neighborhoods.
The event is organized in partnership with key education institutions throughout the region, which helps shape a program that feels both rigorous and approachable. School districts, advocacy groups, and community organizations contribute perspectives, making the fair a place where policy meets everyday classroom practice. Sessions and exhibitor booths reflect the reality of a multilingual district, where students move among languages at home and at school, and where teachers are encouraged to build cultural competence into the curriculum.
Beyond the exhibit hall, the fair highlights career pathways in which language skills matter. Young professionals and students can learn about fields where bilingualism and cultural knowledge are genuine assets, from education and translation to public service and international work. Organizers have long argued that raising children with strong linguistic and cultural confidence prepares them for a global marketplace, and that the region's future workforce benefits from citizens who can communicate across boundaries and understand different communities.
Anyone planning to attend can expect a welcoming, well-organized day with multilingual support on site, including interpretation available for attendees who need it. The fair's mission engages educators, researches effective practices, and advocates for a systemic approach to increasing opportunity equitably. It is a chance to strengthen community ties, connect with colleagues and families, and experience firsthand how language-rich education can shape a child's sense of identity, belonging, and aspiration.
